Rain..rain..rain..

It's been raining..it's been pouring..many areas have been flooding..hmm it sorta rhymes huh? Not intentional though..but seriously..it's been raining ALOT..plus it's been said (by Straits Times) that the amount of rainfall in Dec 2006 was the highest amount of rainfall that Singapore has experienced in a hundred or so years..they said it's due to somestuff going on somewhere (oh man..my geog sucks..and here I am - a geog student..lol) causing more clouds than usual to pass over S'pore. It's been raining almost everyday..and driving around in this kinda torrent is no joke..many times I couldn't even see the car in front of me or even the road markings..

The weirdest thing is that it could be raining so heavily around the Jurong area, so heavy that it's like you're in a fog or something, and only drizzling in the next town like Clementi. I've experienced this afew times. I'd be driving on the PIE towards town and I'd experience really heavy rain starting from my house and the rain will just lift suddenly and I'd come out of the 'fog'. Really weird. There was another similar incident while I was driving from Sim Lim Square towards Bukit Timah. It was drizzling at Sim Lim..but suddenly everything became a blur just before the King Albert Park Mackers..lol..interesting experience..

But through all this rain..I just can't help but think "how nice it would be if Australia had alittle of this rain." Aussieland has been experiencing drought for mths..maybe even years..oh well..it's been in a drought ever since I went over to study. There've been quite afew news articles on bush fires all over the country. The people, the plants and the animals need water urgently..yet it rarely rains (it rains about 1 or 2 times a mth on avg). S'pore on the other hand..although we also do need water..but we're getting too much of it..until we hear news about mudslides and nurserys flooding.. Yeah yeah..S'pore's in the tropics whereas Aust isn't..sigh..how nice if we could transport some of the water over to Aust at low cost or absolutely no cost..sigh..

Kk..enough of geog rantings from a geog student..I realise I've actually grown to be more aware of what's happening in the surrounding physical environments more than I've ever been before. Stuff like forests being cleared for agriculture etc..probably coz I actually get to see stuff happening in Aust..whereas everything's just in pics if I study in S'pore..thank God He sent me over there..^^ Sigh..what else to write/type..it's 2312 now..and I still have afew more hours to wait..have to wait for my mum to call..so I can go pick her up and finally visit lalaland..zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
