Chronicles of Narnia!!

Went to have lunch with Huiyi and my siblings at 1 at Suntec today..went Pasta Mania for lunch..had great time talking there..haha..I was worried that Huiyi wouldn't be able to click with my sisters..but fortunately it turned out great..=) Thanks b'day buddy!! ^^ We joked and laughed at each other like mad..haha..teasing each other about how we spend money..and how my siblings can really cause me to go bankrupt when I go out with them..was good to meet Huiyi again..=) but we didn't actually manage to achieve what we set out to do though..we actually wanted to go and buy each other's b'day prezzie..but ended up not doing that..haha..so we'll meet again next week..hopefully..Huiyi must contact me k??

Hmm after lunch..Huiyi went to do her Christmas shopping..and my siblings and I went over to Shaw Tower to watch Chronicles of Narnia..it's a show with a subtle Christian msg..the show doesn't really mean much unless you try to relate the show together with the Gospel..the white witch represents Satan, and Aslan (the lion) represents Jesus..the land of Narnia started off with the white witch ruling over part of the land..and it was prophesied in the show that the 4 children would be the ones who would work together with Aslan to restore peace to the land..well..how I interpreted it to link with Christianity is that the 4 children represent us Christians..as the 4 children are needed to work with Aslan, all of us Christians are needed to work with Jesus to spread the Gospel and touch lives..to let pple know that the way to eternal life and peace is only through Jesus..but what I wonder is..why 4 children? Wonder if the number 4 represents the different denominations in Christianity..I know that there're Presbyterians, Methodists, Protestants, and Charismatics..are there any else? Are Catholics counted as a denomination? Oh well..think gotta ask my shepherd..

In the show, Aslan also gave his life in return for the life of one of the boys (Edmond). To me, that represents Jesus dying on the cross for our sins..the entire world's sins..before Aslan was stabbed to death by the white witch, his mane was shaved..I think that represents the beatings and tortures that Jesus suffered..this scene also relates the ridicule that Jesus received from the guards and pple..then Aslan was stabbed..representing the nails being hammered into Jesus' hands and feet..after Aslan died, the 2 girls, Susan and Lucy, approached his dead body that was lying on the stone table..I think this represents the part where Jesus' mother and close disciples were there even through His time of death and the man coming to take Jesus' body down from the cross..after awhile, Aslan was actually resurrected, and the stone table broke..think this represents Jesus' resurrection..and the broken stone table represents the temple being torn down..

As for the war that happened between Aslan's army and the white witch's army, it's like the daily spiritual war that Christians are taking part in..Christians of the past and even Christians in the present are fighting this war daily..fighting with prayers..there was a part where Aslan's army was losing and retreating..maybe that's the part where the Anti-Christ would seem to be ruling, and the Christians have to run..towards the end, Aslan himself turned up with reinforcements, and won the battle..Aslan himself bit off the head of the white witch..think this represents Jesus coming again, to help us Christians who've been running from the Anti-Christ..and Jesus will crush the devil's head under His mighty feet..

After that, the 4 children are appointed as Kings and Queens of different parts of the land..guess this represents all Christians in Heaven enjoying eternal life and being the princes and princesses of God..=) Great ending isn't it? There're many more specific details that I found paralleled Christianity..but all I've said so far are just the main parts..

Well..these are my interpretations of the show..do let me know if you have any other comments yah? Or pls do correct me if you think I've interpreted some parts wrongly..it's a good show overall..if you can link it with what's written in the Bible..=)
